First Crochet Demo!!!

Okay, so I’m very excited to share that I had my first crochet demo at Michaels in Pinellas Park Florida last Saturday.  Yay me!!!  The demo went great and I had lots of people stop by my table to see what I was all about.  Lots of Oooooh’s and ahhhhh’s over my plethora of creations (quite a self-esteem boost).  Only a few gave their information so I could send them future class information but that’s okay because I believe I planted a few seeds that day.

First Class!!!

I also had another first, this past Wednesday I had my first crochet class at Michaels (again in Pinellas Park Florida).  Double yay!!!  Thus far any teaching I’ve done has been for free so nice to have a paying gig right?!!  Okay, so it was only one student but she was a fabulous one creating an excellent first time experience.  The funny thing is people have often said “you’re too young to be a crocheter”, “crocheting is for old people”, and “crocheted things are kinda boring”, well my fabulous first time student was a young lady (way younger than me) LOL.  And boy did she flourish; I actually asked if she was clowning me about her crochet experience because she learned so quickly and had such nice even tension.   And, yes she does plan to come back to learn more!!!  So, all in all it was an excellent first class.  Thank you to the Pinellas Park Florida Michaels team for the support!!!

First male student!!!

Okay and finally my last first that I want to share tonight, I had my first male student today!  Woot! Woot!  Go Terry, shake yo booty, go Terry share what yo mama taught ya!!!   So here’s the scoop.  I was at my yarn group where I volunteer and he was a staff member that had down time and at first I thought he was kidding but me and my weird sense of humor I played along and got him hook and yarn and started to go over the basics.  It only took me a couple minutes to realize he was serious and truly was interested in what we were doing.  So I finished covering the basics and got him started with hook and yarn.  I was so proud of his efforts!  This young 18 year old guy now knows the basic mechanics of the slip knot, chaining, turning, and single crochet.  His interest and efforts really made my day!

I have so much more to share as I have been a busy young lady so I guess this is where I say
